Young Tottenham Hotspur star winger Mikey Moore has the potential to be special at the Premier League level, and he certainly more than flashed that potential on loan last season with Rangers, producing in some of the biggest matches of the calendar year in world football by dominating one on ones and scoring important goals in the Old Firm Derby against Celtic.

Rangers want to keep Moore, but the writing appears to be on the wall for the 18 year old versatile attacker to leave for a different challenge. The coach that helped him the most last season and saved his early loan blushes under poor coaching, Danny Rohl, is now headed to RB Salzburg, and with how well he played, the teenage sensation graduated from the Scottish Premiership to a bigger league in Europe's top five.

That being said, it is still uncler if Moore will head out on loan at all. Tottenham Hotspur are kicking around the idea of keeping Moore for the 2025/26 season and having him compete for a starting job on the wings, given their wide vacancy on the left with no new signings yet and only Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert available there.

Tottenham are not selling Mikey Moore

But Mikey Moore may need more seasoning before he is ready for the Premier League and the spotlight at Spurs. According to a report from Football.London's Alasdair Gold, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is going to give Moore a chance to sink or swim and see for himself first.

Per Gold, De Zerbi's plan with Moore is to have him train with the squad and play with the first team in the preseason so that he can get a close, personal look at the Tottenham gem for the first time, as the Italian manager just arrived at N17 a couple of months ago. Then, De Zerbi will decide if Moore is ready to help his squad in the first team as part of the rotation or if he would benefit more from regular minutes on loan.

But one thing is obvious, and Tottenham fans expected nothing less than this all along: Tottenham will not sell Moore permanently. So if Rangers or any other club get the idea that they can steal away the teenage winger from Spurs before Spurs get a chance to see his development through, then they will be sorely mistaken. Because while De Zerbi is still figuring out if he is a first team player or not, Spurs 100 percent know he is not someone they are parting with.
