Endrick set to stay at Real Madrid amid strong transfer interest
The Spurs insiders are providing an eclectic mix of names in the club's hunt for attacking additions, including some who don't ply their trade in the Premier League. Remarkable, I know.
Villarreal's Georges Mikautadze has started to gain traction, and supporters have clung to the tenuous links with Real Madrid's Endrick. The now-notorious ‘Szy' has said that the young Brazilian is among the striker options Spurs "admire".
However, the unlikely Endrick dream has quickly been dashed. On Monday, The Athletic reported that Madrid have decided to retain the striker for the 2026/27 season.
Endrick, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon and scored eight times in 21 appearances, had garnered interest from an array of European clubs, including Spurs. But, he's decided, in unison with the club and returning manager José Mourinho, to stay and fight for his place in the Spanish capital.
He has the small task of stealing minutes away from Kylian Mbappé, while Carlos Espí has also joined the club from Levante this summer.
Endrick's situation will be revisited in January, so if Solanke's missing with a broken toe nail and Richy's body gives way for the 1903th time, we could make a play at the Brazilian midway through the season.
Hopefully, though, the club doesn't sell De Zerbi short. The work we've done so far has been brilliant, but supporters are understandably becoming concerned about the state of our attack.
With Yang Min-hyeok joining Westerlo on loan, there are currently no match-fit right-sided attackers available to De Zerbi.
