Tottenham is well known for its great players, many of whom are still young and in the process of becoming stars.

It’s no secret that in recent years, Tottenham has bet on youth and is not shy about it.

From 18-year-old midfielder Archie Gray, who recently won an award at the London Football Awards, to South Korean Yang Min-Hyeok, who is currently on loan.

And Tottenham does not plan to stop, as there are already rumours that the club is eyeing another young star from Corinthians, Breno Bidon.

However, even though they are highly talented, not everyone may be ready to play for the club, and such is the case with Luka Vuskovic, who, according to a former Belgian footballer, is not yet prepared to join the team.

Patrick Goots believes the defender is not yet ready for Tottenham

Patrick Goots, a former professional footballer, has claimed that the almost newly signed 18-year-old Luka Vuskovic is not yet prepared to play for the club.

It’s worth noting that Vuskovic, who currently plays for KVC Westerlo, will join Tottenham in the summer of 2025.

Goots told Gazet van Antwerpen (h/t Voetbal Krant):

"Vuskovic is very all round, only the pure pace he lacks a bit, and there is a good head. He will also realise it is too early for a return (move) to Tottenham."

"I think he’s in any case a very interesting profile for Antwerp, where Toby Alderweireld and Zeno Van den Bosch will disappear from the heart of the defence after this season," Goots continued.

"Competing for prizes, and who knows, maybe playing European, would be an ideal intermediate step."

Does Luka Vuskovic need more experience to play for the club?

Although we won’t see the Croatian defender play for Tottenham just yet, it’s certain he could make a significant impact if given the opportunity to first gain experience and confidence in other competitions.

Considering Vuskovic is still very young and that the media have greatly praised his skill and tenacity, his arrival at the club is expected to have an impact on the squad.

According to Sofascore, Luka Vuskovic has started 25 times in the Pro League, contributing with 7 goals and 1 assist.
