Callum Hudson-Odoi had enormous hype around him when he first started playing for the Chelsea first team at just seventeen back in 2018.

Tough injury luck along with a host of other reasons mean that to date, his career hasn't gone as planned.

However, there is undoubtedly a player in there. In the 23/24 season, Hudson-Odoi racked up his most career minutes in one season to date, playing 29 Premier League games (Transfermarkt).

He racked up eight goals and four big chances created in twenty league starts (SofaScore), so his end product is getting better and better.

A fast, direct, dribbly winger, the 23 year-old impressed over the course of the season and helped guide Forest to 6 points clear of the drop.

Tottenham reportedly interested in Callum Hudson-Odoi

At just 18, Hudson-Odoi started for England in a qualifer at Montenegro, providing an assist for Ross Barkley in a 5-1 victory. He also completed 5 dribbles, created 3 chances, and won 8 ground duels (SofaScore)

He clearly showed himself to be a capable international footballer, but not too long after that game ruptured his achilles and has been having to find his way back ever since.

As touched on above, the Forest winger is still just 23 years-old and has potential to become a top class winger. His aforementioned 8 goals were only bettered by Richarlison and Heung Min-Son out of current Spurs players.

Spurs are in desperate need of some homegrown players, so Hudson-Odoi ticks another box there.

Paul O Keefe also mentioned that Forest would ask for a fee of £25-30m, which in this market feels pretty reasonable for a homegrown player with his level of output last season.

With Timo Werner's recent injury, and form just before the injury, Spurs may want to put the £15m option to buy money towards a player like Hudson-Odoi instead.
