Tottenham now leading the race to sign €40m Chelsea, Man Utd transfer target
Tottenham Hotspur seem to be leading the race to sign promising Danish talent Patrick Dorgu, who’s currently making waves at Serie A side Lecce. The 19-year-old has attracted attention from some of Europe’s top clubs, including Chelsea, thanks to his standout performances in Italy. With competition fierce, it looks like Spurs are now in the driver’s seat to bring the versatile full-back to North London, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness).
Dorgu, a product of the FC Nordsjaelland academy, was promoted to Lecce’s first team last summer and has quickly established himself as one of the brightest young talents in Serie A. His ability to operate effectively on either flank, coupled with his strong defensive skills and attacking prowess, has made him a sought-after player across the continent. In the last season alone, he featured in 34 matches for Lecce.
This summer, Lecce managed to fend off interest from several clubs, keeping hold of Dorgu despite rising speculation over his future. However, with Tottenham now reportedly at the front of the queue, the teenager’s time in Italy could be nearing its end. Spurs, under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou, have been actively pursuing young talents as part of their long-term strategy, and Dorgu fits the bill perfectly.

While Lecce initially valued Dorgu at €30 million, the price tag has now increased to around €40 million, reflecting the growing interest and the player’s rising stock. Despite the hike, Tottenham are believed to be undeterred and are keen to push forward with negotiations.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are also in the race for Dorgu’s signature. The Blues have been restructuring their squad under new management, with an emphasis on securing the best young talent from around the world. With Ben Chilwell falling out of favour and Marc Cucurella yet to fully convince, Chelsea see Dorgu as a potential long-term solution for their left-back position.
In addition to Tottenham and Chelsea's interest in the young Danish player, recent reports have also linked Manchester United, so they shouldn't be ruled out as contenders.
