Tottenham Hotspur have decided to pull back from their chase of Federico Chiesa, the Juventus forward who’s been buzzing in transfer talks.

Even though there’s been a lot of buzz about Chiesa potentially joining Spurs, the North London team has decided to drop the idea of signing the Italian star.

Chiesa, who is in the final year of his contract with Juventus, has been frequently mentioned in transfer rumors, with many suggesting a move to Tottenham could be on the horizon.

However, recent reports indicate that Tottenham has made the decision to withdraw their interest in the player, as confirmed by Football Insider.

The primary reason behind Tottenham's decision is their current strategic focus. The club has already added young talents like Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their squad but still has significant gaps to fill, especially in the attacking department.

Tottenham's priority remains securing a world-class forward before the transfer window closes, with a particular emphasis on finding a new number nine. This comes in response to their need for a replacement for Harry Kane, who departed the club, and the less-than-ideal positioning of Son Heung-min in the previous season.

Despite Chiesa's potential availability at a reduced fee of £25 million, Tottenham has chosen not to pursue him. The decision is influenced partly by Chiesa’s wage demands, which stand at approximately £8 million per year.

This substantial salary expectation poses a significant hurdle for many interested clubs, including Tottenham, who are managing their budget and focusing on their pressing need for a striker.

Juventus still hopes to keep Chiesa but is reportedly unwilling to meet his wage demands. As a result, they are prepared to let him go if a suitable offer is made.

While Chiesa remains an appealing option for many, his financial requirements and Tottenham's current transfer strategy have led to the club withdrawing from negotiations.

Basically, Tottenham’s decision to back off from Chiesa shows they’re really focused on finding a top striker to lead their attack. While they keep searching for the right fit, going after Chiesa is no longer a priority, showing where their head is at in the transfer market.
