Tottenham Hotspur have always been a club that prides itself on scouting and securing young talents with high potential, and this summer has been no different.

With the additions of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and Wilson Odobert, Spurs have clearly shown their intent to build a squad that’s not only ready for the present but also well-prepared for the future.

Now, according to reports from Laviola.it, the North London club has set its sights on another promising prospect, Fiorentina's 18-year-old goalkeeper, Tommaso Martinelli.

Martinelli, who has swiftly made a name for himself at Fiorentina, is seen as one of the most exciting young goalkeeping talents in Italy.

Despite his young age, he was promoted to Fiorentina's first team last summer, a clear testament to his abilities and potential.

However, the landscape at Fiorentina has recently shifted, making Martinelli’s future at the club uncertain.

The continued presence of veteran goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano, coupled with the high-profile arrival of David de Gea, has significantly reduced Martinelli’s chances of securing regular first-team action.

Understandably, the young keeper is now exploring his options, and a move away from his boyhood club appears to be on the cards.

Tottenham's scouts have reportedly been monitoring Martinelli for some time, observing his performances for Fiorentina’s youth team.

However, the situation isn’t entirely straightforward for Tottenham. Their current goalkeeping situation is relatively stable, with Guglielmo Vicario, who had a decent debut season, firmly established as the club's number one.

Behind him, the experienced Fraser Forster, along with Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman, provides Spurs with considerable depth in the goalkeeping department.

Given this, it’s unclear whether Tottenham will feel the need to make a move for Martinelli this summer or if they will wait and see how their current options perform in the upcoming season.
