In the Premier League era, Tottenham have seen many world-class players. Currently, Ange Postecoglou is working wonders with an exceptional group of players but I cannot help imagining how much better he'd fare with a certain guy running the midfield.

Midfield legends of Tottenham, huh? Who could I possibly be suggesting - Could it be Luka Modric, Mousa Dembele or even Rafael Van der Vaart? No, I'm talking about Christian Eriksen.

I know, I know. the Danish midfielder isn't the most popular figure amongst the Spurs faithful for his decision to join Manchester United. But still, nobody can deny he was an excellent midfielder during his time at White Hart Lane, Spurs' stomping ground at the time.

Christian Eriksen more than likely regrets his decision to join Manchester United, despite winning the EFL Cup last season. This calendar year, the Danish midfielder has only played 95 minutes of Premier League action. Despite returning from injury before the new year, Eriksen has fallen further down the Old Trafford pecking order.

It's never nice to see club legends struggling at their new clubs. However, something about this happening with Manchester United makes that pill just a little less bitter to swallow for Spurs fans.

According to Tipsbladet, Christian Eriksen is "dissatisfied" with the situation at Manchester United, in the form of not playing much. Translated to English, Eriksen said:

"I have had a conversation with Erik [ten Hag]] that I am of course dissatisfied with the situation and that I would like to play as much as possible, but that I am available and must be available for the team, which I am and always will be."

Of course, the situation is difficult for Christian Eriksen, who has too much quality to be rotting away on the bench. However, with the youngster Kobbie Mainoo coming through the ranks and setting the world alight, it woud be unjust for Ten Hag to displace him.

There isn't likely to be a place for Eriksen to return at Spurs either, not that Ange would consider that. His midfield is pretty strong and with Lucas Bergvall arriving, the competition for places will be too strong.
