The 2023/24 Premier League season is far from done right now, yet teams have started to plan their offseason, identifying potential transfer targets to bolster their ranks for an exciting 2024/25 campaign.

Tottenham are one of those sides trying to bring in the right talent to compete at the top of the league. Since last season, they've been linked with Chelsea's midfielder Conor Gallagher, one of the best players in his position in the league.

According to Tom Barclay of The Sun, Spurs are hoping to secure this signing as soon as possible once the summer transfer window opens, as Ange Postecoglou wants to have all his players ready for a full preseason.

Once June 1 arrives, Gallagher will only have one more year left in his current deal with Chelsea. The Blues seem ready to part ways with several players this offseason, as they've admitted their transfer policy has been disastrous.

Tottenham reported keen to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea

Tottenham are trying to take advantage of this and one year after the Gallagher deal didn't materialize, they're ready to make another offer to Chelsea and land one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Barclay reports that Chelsea could ask for at least £40 million for Gallagher.

Mauricio Pochettino has shared his desire to keep Gallagher with Chelsea, but the front office appears to have different plans for the Englishman. Considering that Gio Lo Celso is most likely out of Tottenham after this season, bringing another midfielder like Gallagher will certainly help James Maddison, who is the only playmaker Spurs have.

Postecoglou is ready for business this offseason, as he expects the front office to make quick moves and bring in the right players to improve his team. Time will tell how this story ends, but Gallagher would certainly be a great addition to this side.
