Tottenham Hotspur summer transfer window review

Overall, it feels like a positive window. Spurs wanted a centre-forward - they got one. Spurs wanted a dribbly 1v1 winger - they got one. Spurs wanted to shop for the next best thing out of the Championship - they got him.

They were also able to get rid of deadwood in a way they hadn't been able to do in previous years, and that deserves a mention. The main criticism would be not being able to get cover at left-back Destiny Udogie, with fear of the Italian defender being overplayed this season.

There has been criticism on social media that the line-up looks pretty similar to last season, but you have to remember when Spurs had a full clean bill of health at the start of last season they won eight and drew two of their first ten games.

When he is back from injury, there is no doubt that Solanke will improve the starting XI too. Archie Gray should improve the side at some point this season, with Wilson Odobert and Lucas Bergvall making that sort of impact in the next couple of years. This season will be an opportunity for the pair to get their feet under the table.

All in all, this has been a positive transfer window - around an 8/10. Let's see how well that ages.
