Some of you may be familiar with the excellent DataMB, who provide top-class data for so many different teams, players, and leagues. As a result, they also have data regarding Spurs as a team and for all of the individual players - so let's crunch the numbers.

Tottenham Hotspur: A look into the numbers so far this season

Amongst the teams in Europe's top five leagues this season, Spurs have the highest average possession (68.5%), and the most intense pressing, with 6.24 PPDA. For those not familiar with PPDA, it stands for passes per defensive action, essentially meaning that out of possession - Spurs allow their opponents to make the fewest amount of passes before winning the ball back.

In Premier League terms, Spurs are (obviously) first for the aforementioned stats, as well as shots on target. They are second for positional attacks and touches in the (opposition) box, and third for passes completed.

According to their data, Pedro Porro has completed the second most passes in the Premier League this season, with 262. Destiny Udogie comes in at fifth, with 241.

Elsewhere, James Maddison has the most attacking actions (shots, crosses, and dribbles) in the Premier League this season, with 37 - 10 more than any other player in the league. Dejan Kulusevski is in the 96th percentile (the higher the number the better) for key passes, and the 98th percentile for progressive carries in the Premier League so far this season.

Dominic Solanke is in the 94th percentile for xG, showing that he is getting into the right areas and that the goals will continue to come as they have done over the last week.

Brennan Johnson has had the most touches in the opposition box out of U23 wingers and attacking midfielders in the top five leagues, with 39. This puts him nine ahead of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in second place. He also has the most in-the-box per 90 put of any player in the top five leagues, with 9.06, ahead of Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe.

Back to the defence, Cristian Romero has the third most forward passes in the Premier League this season, with 116. His fantastic pass led to the third goal against Brentford last weekend.
