Since Mauricio Pochettino left his role as Tottenham boss in 2019, an overhaul of failed managers have attempted to take the reigns. Jose Mourinho, Ryan Mason (twice) Nuno Espírito Santo, Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini all attempted to fill the void, but in truth, Spurs never looked settled with any of them.

Now Ange Postecoglou is at the helm and it's like a breath of fresh air in North London. It's still early days but supporters feel like they've got their Tottenham back and the Aussie manager is clearly a great fit for the long run.

However, Ange Postecoglou must soon make some difficult decisions. Given his plans for the summer transfer window, he will need to let go of a few deadwood players. There are some players in this roster who just don't cut it anymore, regardless of the sentimentality attached to such players.

One of those players who Ange Postecoglou is likely to sell is Emerson Royal. According to Football Insider, Tottenham are forced into accepting offers for Emerson Royal in the summer transfer window. This is because Royal is not the first-choice full-back for Spurs, but instead Pedro Porro is. Therefore, in an effort to balance the books, the Brazilian will be sold.

This is fair enough. With no disrespect to the player, he's not going to be sorely missed. Signed by Nuno Espírito Santo in 2021, he has failed to make a significant impact at Tottenham Hotspur so Ange is doing the kindest thing by letting him go.

As per Transfermarkt, Emerson Royal has only made the starting eleven for Spurs 30% of the time this season. In the Premier League, he has made 18 appearances, a lot of those coming from the bench. The only time he realistically starts is when Spurs aren't at full-strength.
