Spurs dominate Everton: Five observations from the match
4. Son at Striker works, but not a long term solution
Heung-Min Son's best position for Tottenham continues to be up for debate. This latest display probably adds to the confusion. With Dominic Solanke out with an ankle problem and Richarlison not match fit, the skipper was put up top. He did what he always does: score for fun.
Son's pressing is one reason Postecoglou likes him as a center-forward, and it showed. Son pressed Everton keeper Jordan Pickford hard, causing the England international to be dispossessed by the Korean forward, who slotted home Tottenham's second goal.
Son was largely ineffective from his preferred winger position against Leicester, but once again proved to be class at the 9 spot. It makes one wonder where he should play. Make no mistake: he's still the team's best forward, but where is he best suited to play? Solanke will probably return to the starting lineup when he's healthy, moving Son out to the left. Will it be the right call? He did have a bit of a scoring drought at the end of last season. Time will tell.
