Tottenham considering signing Bayern Munich winger
By Tom Vinall
Journalist Steve Kay has stated on KS1 TV that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing unwanted Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.
Kay said: "[Coman is] a good player, he’s struggling for game time at Bayern at the moment, a lot of good players there. There are going to be a lot of clubs after him.
I know Spurs are a team looking at him. Interestingly he’s a part of CAA Base, which a lot of Spurs players are linked to, as is Ange "
Bayern have been trying to offload Coman this summer, due to his high wages, injury proneness, and how he has fallen out of the starting XI.
At his best, Coman is undoubtedly a player who offers quality, pace, and 1v1 ability. The 28-year old is capable of playing on both flanks and suits the "high and wide" demands of an Ange Postecoglu side.
However, at 28, doesn't overly fit into the type of player that Ange and Spurs want to recruit, with Ange explaining in a recent interview the benefits of having a young squad. He is also, as touched on above, quite injury prone and his quality will be worthless if he isn't consistently available to show it.

Steve Kay did not mention whether Spurs' interest in Coman was on a loan or permanent deal, but Bayern are seemingly willing to let the Frenchman leave on loan. A loan deal could be a sensible option for Spurs and give them some added depth in wide areas.
Ange said after, ironically, the Bayern game on Saturday that he is expecting new faces through the door before the transfer window shuts. The Times have reported that a winger is next on Spurs' agenda, and with previous target Pedro Neto joining Chelsea, Coman may be the one that Spurs turn to next.
Some sort of loan deal could be a sensible move in theory, however, if Bayern are willing to let him leave on loan, you would imagine they would want all, or the best part, of his wages covered and that could well prove to be a stumbling block.
In any case, should Spurs' interest be real, and Bayern are willing to agree to the same terms, you would imagine the French winger will ask Harry Kane and Eric Dier about everything Spurs and whether or not it would be the right move for him.
