Tottenham battles AC Milan and West Ham for 25-year-old French star
Tottenham Hotspur are currently keeping a close eye on Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana, according to the print edition of Corriere Torino (h/t Sport Witness).
The 25-year-old has been a crucial part of Monaco's midfield and has also regularly featured in recent French national team squads. In France's Euros opener against Austria, Fofana came off the bench to help secure a 1-0 win.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham are looking to bolster their squad with a number six this summer. Youssouf Fofana has now emerged as a key target for the North London club.
Corriere Torino notes that Juventus are also plotting a move for the Monaco star but faces stiff competition from AC Milan, Tottenham, and West Ham. The Ligue 1 club appears willing to sell the midfielder for a reduced fee, given that Fofana has just one year left on his contract. A bid in the region of £17m-£25.3m could be sufficient to secure his services.

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea's Conor Gallagher, another target for the Spurs, is not keen on leaving his current club and could be offered a new contract. Consequently, Tottenham seems to be exploring alternative options, with Fofana now appearing as a prime candidate.
Youssouf Fofana could be a great addition to the Spurs' midfield under Ange Postecoglou. His experience in Ligue 1 and recent performances for the French national team demonstrate his capability and reliability.
Fofana's ability to perform in high-pressure situations, as seen in his contribution to France's win over Austria, would be invaluable for Tottenham. Moreover, securing a player of Fofana's caliber for a relatively modest fee could prove to be a smart investment for the club.
