Tottenham aware of transfer target price as PSG, Bayern, and Chelsea join pursuit
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with 19-year-old French talent Desire Doue from Rennes for several weeks now, and there are new developments regarding the competition surrounding this potential signing and the price Tottenham would have to pay to secure the player's services.
As the transfer window continues, Tottenham's progress has not quite matched fan expectations for mid-July. This time, we focus on Desire Doue, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder from Rennes who has caught the interest of the Spurs.
Tottenham faces tough competition, as confirmed by Desson, from giants such as Bayern Munich, PSG, and even their London rivals Chelsea, according to The Sun.
Earlier, Ben Jacobs reported that PSG considers Desire Doue a priority signing, fitting all the criteria of their new transfer policy. He is young, playing in the local championship (Ligue 1), French, and reportedly interested in joining the French capital club.

On the other hand, multiple sources position Bayern Munich as the frontrunner for Desire Doue's signature. Sky Sport reported that Bayern's executives have already had discussions with Rennes regarding Desire Doue, with an offer of around £30 million on the table. However, The Sun reveals that Rennes' asking price stands at approximately £52 million.
This figure represents a substantial amount, but given the interest from major European clubs like PSG, Bayern, Chelsea, and Tottenham itself, it underscores Desire Doue's worth and why clubs are willing to take financial risks.
The English outlet also adds that Chelsea's board views Desire Doue as a perfect addition to their objectives for this transfer window. Consequently, Tottenham faces immense pressure due to the high competition for the player and will need to spend significantly if they are to secure Desire Doue's services.
What are your thoughts? Do you believe Tottenham will ultimately sign Desire Doue?
