According to Football Insider, Manchester United and Tottenham have both "registered interest" in signing Crystal Palace defender and England international Marc Guehi.

Sources have indicated to the news outlet that the Eagles value their center-back at £60m, however United are looking to offer £45m this upcoming transfer window. If both clubs hold susbtantial interest, this could come down to a battle over offers.

Football Insider reports that both clubs are in active contact with Palace, meaning the situation could take a decisive shape in the coming weeks.

Tottenham have been looking into signing a new center-back over the past few months, with interest shown in other Premier League profiles like Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah and Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly, however, their interest in both players has cooled in recent times.

Clearly, the ideal center-back would be a young and Premier League experienced player, and at the age of 23 Marc Guehi would be a perfect fit. Guehi has made 88 league appearances for Palace and even a handful of showings for England.

Tottenham will have their work cut out for them in trying to acquire Guehi's talents, however, with an enormous price tag and limited finances after struggling to sell players in the summer. If the signing does take place, it's unlikely Spurs will be making any more moves of such magnitude until next summer.

Amid a terrible injury crisis and a defense which has struggled to be consistent this season, Ange will without a doubt be in the mood to strengthen the back-line, and Guehi would be a great choice for him to go with if the club can cough up the funds.
