After a brilliant start to life on loan in Belgium at KVC Westerlo for Luka Vuskovic, things are now on quite a downward spiral that they can't seem to get out of.

Vuskovic and his KVC Westerlo counterparts had won all of their first three games to start the 24/25 Belgian Pro League Season, but have since only picked up one point from the following three games since.

The latest frustration was when Westerlo took on Gent on Friday night in the first game of round 6 in the Belgian Pro League. Vuskovic and his counterparts were heading towards an impressive clean sheet on the road, but disappointingly conceded from a set piece on 81 minutes and their hosts took home all three points.

The Croatian defender once again played the entire 90 minutes, partnering captain Roman Neudstadter at the heart of manager Timmy Simons's defence. He recorded; three clearances, one blocked shot, one tackle, 3/4 accurate long balls, 2/3 duels won, 34/37 accurate passes, and one shot off target. Not an amazing performance, but not a terrible one either and a clean sheet would have made things look better.

This result means that Westerlo are only one place ahead of Gent in third, but with the same amount of points, only one better goal difference, and crucially, having played one more game than their Friday night opponents.

The teenager and his Westerlo side head into the first international break of the season with mixed success so far, but the fact the frustrating results came more recently, means that they will be heading into the break with more bitterness than they might have had.

After the break, Westerlo will look to get back to winning ways when they face top-of-the-table Anderlecht in a huge clash. The game is on Sunday the 15th of September, with kick-off being 12:30 BST, 7:30 ET.
