Real Betis are remaining hopeful of reuniting with Giovani Lo Celso as the transfer window nears its close. According to Estadio Deportivo, the La Liga club are keen on bringing the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder back to Spain, and their interest in the Argentine is heating up as the deadline approaches.

Lo Celso, who has been a part of Spurs' squad, is expected to depart before the end of the transfer window. Betis, his former club, are eager to re-sign him to complete their squad for the 2024-25 season.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side view Lo Celso as the ideal addition to finalizing their team, referring to him as the “icing on the cake” for their summer recruitment.

However, for Betis to secure Lo Celso’s services, they will need to make room in their budget. The club’s two highest earners, William Carvalho and Nabil Fekir, are reportedly on the chopping block.

Their potential sales would free up the necessary funds to accommodate Lo Celso within Betis’s wage structure.

Additionally, the club are considering late offers for Johnny Cardoso, whose departure could also facilitate the signing of the Tottenham man.

As Tottenham prepare for their Premier League opener against Leicester City, it appears that Lo Celso is not part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the upcoming season.

With Lo Celso not being included in the squad, it looks like Spurs are ready to offload him, which fits perfectly with Betis’s push to sign him.

Betis’s timing is spot-on. With the transfer deadline looming, there’s more pressure on both teams to wrap up the deal.

The midfielder, who previously enjoyed a successful stint at the Spanish club, seems inclined towards a move back to Spain.

His familiarity with Betis, combined with the club’s pressing need to strengthen their squad, makes this transfer a compelling possibility.
