Ryan Sessegnon to leave Tottenham this summer, reports

Spurs are making room for a number of incoming players, and that means that even some of their more long-standing names will get the boot.

He joined Tottenham back in 2019, and though he's made 57 appearances for Tottenham since, Ryan Sessegnon is now set to be offloaded this summer as Spurs pursue other options (Transfermarkt).

According to football.london, the 24-year-old's contract, set to expire in June, will not receive an extension. As such, the English footballer will be leaving North London as a free agent.

Before arriving, Sessegnon made a marked impression on the footballing world after a breakout 2017/2018 season in the EFL Championship with Fulham, where his 21 goal contributions at the age of 17-years-old earned him the title of 'wunderkind' (Transfermarkt).

Unfortunately, due to injury and lower preference in the Tottenham rosters he's been a part of across the past five years, the left-winger/left-back never quite found his footing in Lilywhite.

Now, the best option for both the player and the club seems to be that of free agency.

Spurs will surely be looking to bolster their options down the left-flank, if not this transfer window, then certainly in those to come. With the outgoings of Sessegnon, Ivan Perisic, and potentially Timo Werner, Ange will be in desperate need of additional options.

If we also take an aging Son Heung-min into account, as well as the minimal exposure which Manor Solomon has had with regard to the intensity of a full-length Premier League season, the need is immense.
