Over the last few years, Tottenham fans have weirdly grown to like Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager who is at the helm of Man City has been nothing but respectful and paid the greatest compliments to Tottenham Hotspur over the years.

It helps that Tottenham are a team he seems to struggle to win against. In fact, according to Transfermarkt, Pep Guardiola has faced Tottenham Hotspur 20 times and lost seven of those matches. He has only lost to Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea more times as a manager.

Well, the Tottenham praise train has continued yet again. Pep Guardiola has included Tottenham in a list alongside some other great Premier League teams, for the season which only commenced last week.

In an interview with Men In Blazers, Pep Guardiola was asked which teams can push Man City to the Premier League title this season. Alongside some other great teams, Pep Guardiola named Tottenham Hotspur.

In his own words, Pep Guardiola said: "If you ask me now, it's Arsenal, Tottenham will be there for the way they play."

Granted, Pep Guardiola did mention some other top teams. He was honed in on Arsenal being up there (which is no surprise, considering the last two title races), Liverpool under Arne Slot, Tottenham due to the way they play and Newcastle coming back.

So, he didn't single out Tottenham, but Spurs fans shouldn't turn their noses up at such praise. It goes to show that despite missing out on the top four last season, Ange Postecoglou made a name for himself not just among the spectators, but in the mind of the best manager in the league (and potentially even the world).

This season, Tottenham will hope to break into the top four. Like last season, it will be difficult, with some great teams rising to the top. However, Spurs are more experienced than last season and they have acquired some great signings. They are at least capable of qualifying for the Champions League.

Where do you think Tottenham will finish this season?
