Opinion: Giovani Lo Celso won't be moving to Galatasaray anytime soon
By Gary Pearson
First and foremost, no mainstream, reputable publications have covered this rumour yet. So, there's that. Lo Celso has missed the last three matches with a muscle injury but, aside from not playing against Nottingham Forest on Dec. 15 due to an unknown ailment, saw minutes in the previous eight.
Speculation about Lo Celso's future has been unremitting since Ange joined the club on June 1. The Argentine has worked his way back to prominence under Ange's tutelage but is still seen as a squad member and not part of the manager's first 11.
While Yeni Asir's assertion might have merit, Lo Celso will unlikely depart Hotspur Way during the current campaign. Unless Galatasaray offers above-market value, it would be a curious move for Spurs and Lo Celso. His return to action is unknown, but the latest from the camp suggests he'll be back soon.
His current three-game absence is the second extended injury stint of the season thus far. Despite seeing minutes in 10 matches, Lo Celso has made only four starts, all of which when Spurs were hit hard by the injury bug. If Lo Celso is steadfast in starting every match when he's healthy, a move to Galatasaray makes more sense. But at this stage, don't expect this story to materialize into more than clickbait fodder for Yeni Asir.
