Manchester United are now firmly in the mix for Eberechi Eze, a player who was previously on Tottenham Hotspur's radar. Fabrizio Romano, who’s known for his insider reports, has revealed that United are keeping a close watch on the Crystal Palace star with plans to make a move next summer.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder was a prominent figure on Tottenham’s radar throughout the summer transfer window. Spurs were reported to have explored the possibility of triggering Eze’s release clause, which was believed to be set at around £60 million plus add-ons. This move was seen as a potential game-changer for Tottenham.

However, the scenario took an unexpected turn when it was revealed that the release clause expired a few weeks before the transfer window closed. This development meant that Eze remained at Selhurst Park for the time being, with Tottenham’s plans thwarted. The Daily Mail has suggested that the clause might become active again next summer, potentially reopening the door for Tottenham to reignite their interest in the England international.

Romano’s latest updates indicate that Manchester United are now interested in Eze. According to Romano, United have been scouting the player and appreciating his abilities. The same attention was given to Michael Olise, another Crystal Palace player, but the deal for Olise proved too expensive, leading him to Bayern Munich instead.

Looking ahead to the summer of 2025, Manchester United are expected to invest in a new winger, and Eze is now on their radar. Romano emphasises that while it’s not guaranteed that United will move for Eze or who their top target might be, they are considering several options for that position and will be monitoring multiple players in the coming months.

Tottenham must be very savvy when making moves for players of this price range. At the moment, Spurs fans aren’t overly excited about potential signings, but it’s only natural that the club’s sporting department is continuously at work. We’ll have to wait and see who manages to seal the deal.

Recent reports suggest that Arsenal or Manchester City might already have a deal in the works for the player.
