Tottenham Hotspur’s bid to secure Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Pedro Neto has hit a major snag as Manchester City has entered the fray, presenting Spurs with formidable competition.

The shift in dynamics follows the imminent sale of Julian Alvarez to Atlético Madrid, which has prompted City to search for a high-caliber replacement.

According to The Telegraph, Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola has identified Neto as a potential target to bolster his squad.

This news makes things trickier for Tottenham since Manchester City is now in the running for Neto too. Even though City just brought in Brazilian winger Savinho for £30.8 million, they’re still eager to boost their attack even more.

Pedro Neto, who is contracted with Wolves until June 2027, has emerged as a highly sought-after player due to his impressive performances.

Last season, the Portuguese international demonstrated his attacking prowess by netting three goals and providing 11 assists in just 24 appearances across the Premier League and FA Cup.

His speed, dribbling skills, and effectiveness on the wing have made him one of Wolves’ standout players, contributing a total of 14 goals and 24 assists across all competitions since joining the club.

Tottenham has shown a strong interest in Neto and has reportedly held discussions about a potential move. Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe indicates that the club has been proactive in exploring the possibility of signing Neto.

However, Wolves are not in a rush to part with their star player. They may reconsider their stance if they receive an offer in the range of £55 to £60 million.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Neto now faces a challenge with Manchester City’s deep pockets and enticing offer. City’s involvement makes things much tougher for Spurs, who are eager to strengthen their squad before the new season.
