Tottenham are reportedly 'very close' to completing a move that would see Genoa defender Radu Dragusin join the club.

Tottenham have been in search of a new center-back to add to their ranks for months, and now a massive transfer admission from a player's agent has shed light on a deal that is in the advanced stages.

Florin Manea, Dragusin's agent, has confirmed the information with media outlet Fanatik Superliga:

"I met with them in London, a few days ago. They are also at the match where I am today, we will see Genoa - Juve. Let's see, there are good signs. Those there would like to transfer him. He did not sign the extension with Genoa. I don't think it's a case of extension."

This would be a massive boost for Tottenham in January if they are able to acquire Dragusin's services. The player is apparently interested in a move to English football, and thinks he would settle in nicely according to Fanatik Superliga:

"[The Premier League is] a place where I will evolve the best and develop the best... It is a competition that I follow and I hope to play there in the future."

Just 21 years of age, the right-footed center-back has made 58 appearances across all competitions for Genoa, and has 12 caps for the Romania national team.

Genoa face Juventus this evening, and the clash may be one which decides the fate of a potential signing for Tottenham this upcoming transfer window. If the move occurs, Dragusin could slot into the back-line alongside Cristian Romero until the return of the favored Micky van de Ven, at which point the Serie A player could become a solid back-up option for the starters.
