Tottenham Hotspur have their work cut out for them ahead of the 2024/25 season. Ange Postecoglou is best-placed to implement the necessary changes, as he has proven via his comments to the media last season that he is unhappy with the foundations at the club. Part of making changes, though, is by starting with players leaving.

For Tottenham, one player has seemingly already left the club ahead of the summer transfer window. Reading between the lines, Ryan Sessegnon is out of contract and the option to extend his stay by a further year is not yet activated. Therefore, it looks likely the defender will leave the club this summer, at least as things stand.

According to a report published by The Guardian, West Ham could be the beneficiaries of Ryan Sessegnon leaving Tottenham this summer. With new manager Julen Lopetegui keen to bring in some full-back competition, Ryan Sessegnon could be his guy, with West Ham mulling over pushing forward with the golden opportunity for a free transfer.

Ryan Sessegnon has spent the early days of his career mostly in London, coming through the Fulham academy before joining Tottenham Hotspur. He did spend a brief period of time in Germany as he represented Hoffenheim on loan but it is now likely his next move will involve him staying in the English capital.

The Guardian claim that even if Sessegnon doesn't move to West Ham, there could be an option for him to re-join his former club Fulham. Needless to say, he had a brighter spell with his boyhood club Fulham than he did after joining Tottenham.

Sessegnon made 106 league appearances for Fulham across three years, becoming one of their most important players after coming through their youth system. It was then believed he was on track for a fruitful career after signing for Tottenham but to be frank, his progress has halted over the last few seasons.

As an attacking full-back and winger, Sessegnon has scored just two Premier League goals for Tottenham. Playing in North London for five years, it is now time for Sessegnon to leave to get his career back on track. After all, he does not have a future under Ange Postecoglou, so it would benefit all the involved parties if he secures a better move elsewhere.
