Former Tottenham manager could replace Gareth Southgate at England

The England national team is set to undergo a transitional period. After a long time, the second most successful manager in the nation's history Gareth Southgate stepped down. The decision came after relentless media pressure and frankly, the fanbase expecting nothing but perfection. Now, the real hard work begins and England fans may learn the lesson "be careful what you wish for."
As things stand, there are no quality English managers available for the opening. There is Graham Potter, who would be a step down from Southgate and Eddie Howe, who would frankly be silly to step away from his Newcastle project for a harder time at England.

Thankfully, though, the English game has been enriched with players and managers from across the world. It is the reason why the Premier League is the best league in the world, due to worldwide influence. One manager who came to England and completely took the English game by storm is the former Southampton, Tottenham and Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Without a doubt, he achieved the most acclaim whilst with Tottenham Hotspur. He was with the club for five years and oversaw one of the most exciting time periods in the club's history, whereby many young players were coming through the ranks, including Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Now, according to a report from i news, Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as a leading candidate to replace Gareth Southgate at England. The Argentine boss is believed to be interested in and open to the proposition of managing England, with Lee Carsley expected to step in as interim boss until a new coach is found.
Tottenham fans know better than most that Mauricio Pochettino is the perfect person to take on the England job. In many ways, he is the manager who is the most similar to Gareth Southgate in his personality-based one-on-one managerial style. It didn't work out for him at Chelsea, but would it work out for anyone with the current Chelsea team?
