Brazilian striker headed to North London? Tottenham transfer update
On one end of their upcoming summer transfer business, Tottenham look to be prepping for the sale of the Brazilian striker currently amongst their ranks.
However, on the other end of the business proceedings, new reports indicate that they could be bringing in a replacement within the same time span.
According to a report from Jornal de Notícias (via Sport Witness), Tottenham are one of a number of clubs that could acquire FC Porto's 24-year-old Evanilson.
The young forward has 24 games of Champions League football in his arsenal of experience, with five goals and three assists across those appearances (Transfermarkt).
This past season, he continued to shine at the Portuguese club, racking up 30 goal contributions in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
The player's lack of experience in Europe's top divisions of competition, despite his success in the Champions League, could leave some to wonder if there are better, or more reliable options out there.
Additionally, his current club's opinion that the player would be a "guarantee[d]" €100m "jackpot," as further reported by Jornal de Notícias, seems more a ploy to intrigue potential buyers rather than an accurate assessment of his potential.
Nevertheless, it seems that Spurs are interested, or perhaps Ange sees something in the young striker.
Whatever the case may be, it's clear that Postecoglou has an idea of what he wants to build in North London, and it's anyone's guess (except his) as to which personnel might help the squad fit into that vision.
