Arsenal legend makes fantastic Tottenham claim

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has unexpectedly showered praise on Tottenham Hotspur’s progress under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Keown, who has deep-rooted connections with Arsenal, has acknowledged the strides Tottenham has made this season. He has praised the unity and spirit within the Spurs squad and their fanbase, noting a significant shift in focus towards achieving their own ambitions and ending a lengthy trophy drought.
The Australian manager has swiftly made his mark, steering Tottenham to an improved start. His approach has reinvigorated the squad, with new signings like Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert adding fresh attacking options and energy. Postecoglou’s methods and the visible change in team dynamics have not gone unnoticed, even by those with strong allegiances to rival clubs.
Arsenal, on the other hand, faces a challenging situation as they prepare for the North London derby. The Gunners have enjoyed recent success in their visits to Tottenham, winning their last two encounters at Spurs’ home ground.

However, Keown believes that this time, Arsenal will face a tougher challenge, especially given the current state of their squad:
"I like what Spurs are doing, I like the way they play, I like the unity in the stadium, the togetherness. Last time Arsenal went there it was more about Arsenal winning a game of football to become champions, now the manager (Postecoglou) is setting a culture and they’ve got their own trophies they want to win as it’s been a long time."
"We have to respect Spurs and it’s difficult. You want to go there with your best players but they’re not there. Calafiori has picked up an injury, Merino the boy who would have come in for Rice is injured."
Arsenal will be without midfield dynamo Declan Rice due to suspension, following his recent red card in a draw with Brighton. Additionally, injuries to Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino have further weakened their midfield options. These absences could leave Arsenal vulnerable.
Keown, speaking on talkSPORT, emphasized that the weakened Arsenal midfield could play into Tottenham's hands. He noted the growing respect for Spurs and the difficulty of facing a team that is so well-prepared and unified.
