Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has been warned one of his Tottenham transfer targets is not for sale. Time to look elsewhere?

Tottenham Hotspur can have no regrets from their 2024 summer transfer window. In fact, they had one of the best transfer windows out of any Premier League club.

For once, fans were pleased to see investment being made from the higher-ups, who were clearly sold on Ange Postecoglou's vision. They strengthened in key areas and bulked up their squad.

However, Ange Postecoglou already has one eye on the future. Having formed a shortlist of transfer targets in his head, he may have to forget about a current Southampton prodigy, who is held in high regard by his current manager.

According to a report from the Daily Echo, current Southampton boss Russell Martin expects plenty of clubs to show interest in Tyler Dibling. However, the Tottenham transfer target is held in high regard as a Saint.

In his own words, Martin said: "I think when you're 18 and you're playing in the Premier League at the level he has, then every club in the world probably looks at you. He's ours. The club have turned down bids for him previously since I've been here. It's not a secret to people who have watched under-21s football."

Martin then goes on to explain how when Dibling left the club recently, he didn't like it, so he came back with a new hunger to achieve at his boyhood club Southampton.

While this isn't a flat-out refusal, it does show that Southampton will not surrender their prodigy without a fight. It is understandable, considering how much promise he is showing.

Dibling is just 18 years old but he's already made five Premier League appearances this season. In fact, he scored an important goal against fellow promoted side Ipswich Town at the weekend.

A player who is versatile enough to play in midfield or out wide, he could be a valuable asset to Tottenham should they choose to pursue him. However, they will face competition from Man United.
