Timo Werner has become a notable addition to Tottenham's squad in the second half of this season. After landing from RB Leipzig in January, the German player made an immediate impact for the North London side, getting more minutes as the games have gone by.

Right now, Werner is a key piece on Ange Postecoglou's attack, linking up with Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Co. Werner's loan is set to end this summer, however, unless Tottenham decide to bring him aboard on a permanent deal.

Speaking to that possibility, Ange Postecoglou recently sent a clear message, praising Werner's contributions, but making it clear that it's still too early to make a decision on the forward's future.

"In terms of his future, yeah I think like most players all these decisions will be made at the appropriate time," said Postecoglou in a press conference before the West Ham duel. (Metro)

"He’s been great for us. He was an important signing, I said at the time, people forget that when we signed him Sonny [Son Heung-min] wasn’t here, he was away at the Asian Cup and then Richy [Richarlison] got injured. So we would have had a massive hole in our line-up without Timo there, and it’s fair to say he’s made an impact in every game," Ange added.

The Australian manager admitted that Werner's scoring numbers could be better, but he also highlighted the importance of the player within Tottenham's structure.

Werner added another assist to his account against the Hammers, setting up Brennan Johnson for the opener and collecting his third assist of the season with the Spurs.

We're still weeks away from the end of the campaign, at which point Tottenham will decide what's next for Werner. He's not the best player on the roster, but has shown his quality more than once to prove that he provides value for this squad.

A lot can still happen for the German player, but right now, he's highly valued within the Spurs ranks.
