7. Kieran Trippier (£3.5m)
Kieran Trippier spent some time playing second-fiddle to Kyle Walker before eventually replacing the departing full-back. A like-for-like replacement, Trippier played excellently under Mauricio Pochettino and developed into an exceptional player. Considering he was signed for just £3.5m from Burnley, in the long run Trippier justified his value tenfold.
So much so, he even earned himself a move to Atlético Madrid in 2019.
8. Michael Carrick (£3.5m)
The start to life in North London was not great for Michael Carrick, having made the £3.5m switch from West Ham. It was under the new management of former Tottenham boss Martin Jol which truly propelled Carrick's career, through.
Jol had made Carrick a focal point in the midfield and he started most matches after impressing. The midfielder is remembered now as being severely underrated but he was noticed by a certain Sir Alex Ferguson to sign after Tottenham, so he must have been pretty special.
