Not the skipper's night. Had a half chance early on, but his shot was tame, and comfortable enough for Jack Butland. Still seems incapable of making an impact when the opposition are in a settled block.
Furthermore, 90 minutes on a Thursday night is probably not optimal for him at this stage. He will have to play a similar amount on Sunday, given how out of sorts Werner is. Let's hope for any sort of resemblance of his performance at St Mary's in 2020.
