Tottenham Hotspur fans have not been hearing much about Xavi Simons lately, as the gem of the summer 2025 transfer class has been out for the last several months with a torn ACL he suffered at the end of the 2025/26 Premier League season, just when he was starting to heat up into his very best form under new manager Roberto De Zerbi. And Spurs can expect not to see Simons in the lineup until 2027.
But as Spurs fans wait for the Dutch international to appear, they can quietly get even more hyped about his return in the back of their minds while watching a new crop of forwards join the club. Pending the arrival of Iliman Ndiaye to the wings from Everton in a potential swap deal involving veteran striker Richarlison, Tottenham could have three proven Premier League stars in their XI, as Manchester City duo Savio and Omar Marmoush have already joined.
Savio, one of the world's most promising gems, has a very close relationship with Simons that has been publicized this summer transfer window, with Simons openly recruiting Savio to Tottenham and both of them going back and forth with love on social media.

But the real boon to Simons when he arrives fully fit again to N17 is going to be Marmoush at the striker position. Simons mainly starts as an attacking midfielder now for Tottenham in that modern playmaker role, though he was also an amazing No. 8 for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, but he suffered a lot last season in terms of the chances he could create or the overall space and attacking opportunities he could get.
Besides Thomas Frank being the manager for most of the 2025/26 season, a big reason why Xavi Simons struggled was that he did not have a great striker who could run off the ball, get open, hold the ball up for him, or do all the things at a high level that a top striker should.
Omar Marmoush is just as talented of a footballer as Simons is when everything is clicking, as he also showed in the Bundesliga with another big club in Eintracht Frankfurt, and having him at his disposal up ahead as the No.. 9 will be beyond massive for Simons, especially in comparison to the plodding Dominic Solanke and the uncoordinated Richarlison.
Having Marmoush up top can help Roberto De Zerbi unleash Simons as a playmaker, dribbler, and even a scorer. Cracks make themselves better, and Simons and Marmoush are two cracking footballers just dying to get on the same page in 2027.
