Tottenham Hotspur have officially thrown their hats in the ring for Omar Marmoush, with David Ornstein of The Athletic, Matt Law of the Daily Telephraph, Fabrizio Romano, and virtually every other legitimate transfer reporter stating that Spurs are now looking to sign both Marmoush and Savinho from Manchester City in a package deal worth potentially 140-150 million pounds this summer right before the transfer window closes.

Spurs have been desperately hunting for a new forward throughout the window, and Roberto De Zerbi has made it patently obvious that, like virtually every fan of the club, the Lilywhites need three new players: two wingers and a striker. It looks like Cody Gakpo and Savinho will be the different, versatile profiles out wide while Marmoush will man the middle.

There is a belief among fans at Tottenham that one of the veteran strikers will go when a better, more dynamic scorer comes in to N17. Richarlison and Dominic Solanke are both below average starting strikers for a Premier League Big Six club, though because Richy was better last season with a team high 11 goals in the league and actually managed to stay healthy, the pendulum has swung more towards Solanke being the player fans want out at the No. 9. That being said, De Zerbi seems to be an even bigger fan of Solanke's than Richarlison's.

Omar Marmoush will settle the debate

As journalist Martin Lipton told the Last Word on Spurs show, if Omar Marmoush does indeed join Tottenham Hotspur in this blockbuster package transfer deal alongside Savinho, then it is expected that either Solanke or Richarlison will go.

So the Marmoush deal will tell Tottenham fans officially what is in Roberto De Zerbi's mind and how much he values Richarlison vs. Dominic Solanke in the most definitive way possible. Nothing is set in stone as far as a striker necessarily being guaranteed to go, but with Cody Gakpo and Savinho also on the way and Gakpo capable of being a false nine - and Mathys Tel can play in the middle, too - it makes the most sense for Spurs to free up space with a sale.

Solanke is just rounding back into health, so someone could potentially want to buy him. And between Richarlison and Solanke, the former was more useful in the relegation fight, more amenable to being a backup, better at scoring the goals, and both healthier and more productive recently. But fans will see for sure what is meant to be if and when the Egyptian international arrives.
