It was a day of late drama in the Premier League, capped off by João Palhinha's pinpoint stoppage time strike to rescue a point against Wolves.

Palhinha's third goal of the season meant we didn't succumb at home to our point-less visitors, who extended their unbeaten run against us to six games.

Vitor Pereira's side were perhaps deserving of securing all three points on Saturday night, especially for their second half performance. Spurs started slowly but grew into the contest, and were able to sustain pressure throughout the second quarter.

Lucas Bergvall and Richarlison both came close for the hosts, while Mohammed Kudus had a header saved superbly onto the bar by Sam Johnstone and had an excellent finish ruled out for offside.

However, the second half was seemingly as bad as it could get, with Wolves comfortably meandering towards a huge victory after Santiago Bueno's opener. Thomas Frank's side were unable to generate any momentum and looked more likely to concede a second than score one themsevles.

Until Palhinha came to the fore.

João Palhinha unsatisfied after late heroics against Wolves

"I'm not happy at all," Palhinha told Sky Sports after the 1-1 draw. "These are the games we need to win. We did a great first half. The second half not really. We could have created more chances."

Palhinha certainly looked anything but unhappy when he peeled away in celebration and ripped his shirt off while running towards a relieved but perhaps confused home crowd. There were still a couple of minutes to play, yet the Portuguese was wasting precious time earning his first booking of the season.

"It's one more game for us to improve and analyse. It's not going to be easy. I'm really sad, me and my team-mates and the staff, because it is mandatory for us to win these games. It feels like a loss.

"We fight until the last minute. Wolves defended well. We need to score our chances," he added.

There were positives to take from the first half, no doubt, and walking away with a point is doubtless better than none. I'd also suggest that Wolves have been pretty unfortunate to not record a point before Saturday's bout, and they were genuinely excellent in the second half against an albeit insipid Lilywhites.

Issues remain for Spurs in possession, with Frank's decision to utilise both Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur a curious one. Kudus was brilliant for the most part, but Xavi Simons was wasteful outside of his one or two moments of quality. Things will improve in time, but, for now, Spurs remain a work in progress under their new manager.
