Although Tottenham Hotspur are currently battling hard on the transfer market for a third defensive signing in Brighton standout Jan Paul van Hecke, who had a great working relationship with current Spurs coach Roberto De Zerbi a couple of years ago, there are bigger fish to fry on the offensive side of things for the Lilywhites after Richarlison was the only player on the team to come away with double digit goals in the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The nearly relegated Spurs are also very close to bringing in dream forward target Savinho from Manchester City to add another much needed option on either wing, but the biggest priority for Spurs has to be getting more goals in the lineup.
Finding a top striker will be difficult this summer. Resurrecting Dusan Vlahovic after Juventus confirmed his departure is one option, but Tottenham may not want to pony up a crazy amount on his wages in exchange for someone with a lot of talent but just as much to prove.
Etta Eyong thinks he is ready for the Premier League
Meanwhile, a potential comparative bargain signing could be Levante's Etta Eyong. The La Liga gem did not enjoy his best 2025/26 season after being surprisingly sold from Villarreal to the smaller local side Levante in the east of Spain, but Eyong did have his moments.
He is also one of the hottest young strikers legitimately available this summer transfer window. In his latest update, Ben Jacobs reports that Premier League clubs need to be on high alert for the 22 year old forward from the Spanish top flight. Because Etta Eyong is reportedly prioritizing a transfer to the Premier League, and two clubs have literally "made approaches" for the Cameroonian international already this summer. In addition, Turkish Super Lig powerhouses are said to be actively interested.
Eyong is a breakout star just waiting to happen, and he is ready to make the leap. Villarreal were a big club, but they did not have the space for Eyong. Levante just were not good enough to equip the player with chances, and he did have bad luck with injuries, too. In the end, he only started 15 games total and fizzled badly as the season went on.
Levante want 30 million euros at a minimum for Eyong, which is actually a reasonable price point, given they just bought him from the Yellow Submarine, though they did only pay three million euros. And Levante were able to get that much out of CSKA Moscow in the winter market, but Eyong understandably did not want them. He wants the Premier League, and Tottenham fans will wonder if Johan Lange and Co. were among the two English clubs to show formal interest. Maybe someone more proven would be better, but in. lieu of that, the 17th placed Premier League team would do well to target Eyong as a Randal Kolo Muani replacement.
