Harry Kane and the England national team fell short at the 2026 World Cup, but they were able to finsih in third in the tournament by beating France for their best finish in a while. And before that, if Thomas Tuchel didn't take the ball out of the feet of Kane and Jude Bellingham with a cowardly defensive approach, perhaps England would have been better challengers to Spain in the Final than Argentina proved to be.

In any case, Kane heads back to Bayern Munich for another charge at the Bundesliga title, and he and the Bavarian giants continue to hammer home a lucrative new contract for the marksman, who remains the best No. 9 on the planet.

But Tottenham Hotspur fans continue to dream of Kane coming back. Although Kane seems settled at Bayern and it appears impossible for him to go, with Barcelona getting promptly denied after showing cursory interest in Kane as their own Robert Lewandowski replacement, that has not stopped Spurs supporters from always dreaming of a reunion with the now 32 year old homegrown Ballon d'Or candidate.

Harry Kane will always be the dream

Even Tottenham's iconic center back Ledley King is dreaming of the same. When asked which player he would like Spurs to sign this summer transfer window, via Chris Cowlin, the Premier League legend kept it simple. He stated that he would like Tottenham to bring Harry Kane back into the fold.

Now more than ever, Kane would be needed at Tottenham. Roberto De Zerbi has totally changed the culture of the. club for the better, and unlike when Kane as at Spurs and having to carry mediocrity and complacency around him following the golden era under Mauricio Pochettino, De Zebri is actually getting Spurs to spend big.

Imagine Kane in a team surrounded by Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, Xavi Simons, James Maddison, Mateus Fernandes, Archie Gray, Dejan Kulusevski, and Sandro Tonali. In terms of overall talent, that is better than any team Tottenham would have given the veteran striker since the time when they were literally competing for Premier League and Champions League titles.

Tottenham Hotspur definitely need a new striker after only Richarlison scored in the double digits in the Premier League last season, and it is probably their biggest need at this point. So you can one thousand percent see why Ledley King and the Tottenham fans are still dreaming of Kane in 2026, even if it is impossible.
