Jose Mourinho's latest shot at Daniel Levy's greed will give Tottenham fans life

Fired just days before he could potentially deliver the League Cup to Tottenham, Jose Mourinho, who was also disrespected by the failing club leadership at Manchester United, was perhaps the most uniquely positioned icon in world football to comment on the Europa League Final between Spurs and Man United in Bilbao.

Now that Tottenham won it, Mourinho had an excellent quip on the situation of his former club, specifically pointing a well-placed barb across the chest of the single man he has disliked perhaps more than anyone else (well, besides Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger) in world football over the years.

Mourinho took a shot at Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy at a most prescient time, as Spurs supporters are literally campaigning to get him out of the club after years of minimal investment and woeful leadership.

Jose Mourinho still cares about Tottenham

The legendary Portuguese manager said of his former boss at Tottenham, via The Spurs Express, “Tottenham play Champions League and of course for Mr. Levy, the millions the Champions League gives, for him it’s the best news. For the fans, the players and Ange, it’s a title.”

Absolutely hilarious and delivered with the kind of deadpanned wisdom that only Mou is capable of. Mourinho lives and breathes every club he has been at, and you could always tell he saw Tottenham being capable of so much more but that they were being held back by a complacent and greed de factor owner in Levy.

Mourinho couldn't be more right, too. Levy only sees dollar signs. He doesn't care about the fans, the club, or the sporting aspect. His main focus is commercial, with no desire to push for more, compete for the most ambitious targets on the market who can elevate the club (looking at Desire Doue), or win. His trophy is the dollar signs of the Champions League, whereas the Europa League title is what the players and fans would have given anything for.

And as a former Tottenham manager himself, Mourinho knows how much Ange Postecoglou put into the Europa League campaign, as well as the former Celtic boss's plight as the man working directly under the iron fist of Levy.

Any Mourinho insult or comment is appreciated, and while he is most legendary for his time at Chelsea, he could have built something successful at Tottenham without the callous greed of Levy. Mourinho certainly hasn't lost any love for Levy himself, but he clearly does have plenty left for Spurs.
