Former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho had a difficult first season with Fenerbahce, making more noise for his usual antics at press conferences than for any of the Turkish powerhouse's successes in the Super Lig.

Fenerbahce finished Mourinho's first season at the helm in second, and while they were 20 points ahead of the club in third, they were also a whopping 11 points behind eternal rivals Galatasaray in a title race that, well, was never really close.

Galatasaray were buoyed by some of the biggest stars in the league, with Victor Osimhen scoring for fun on a team that lost just one game. Mourinho now wants to shore up a defense that finished third behind Galatasaray and fourth-placed Besiktas in goals allowed, and he's looking to add an icon from Tottenham to help in that regard.

In addition to his interest in current Tottenham players Yves Bissouma and Richarlison, Mourinho wants to bring Kyle Walker in from Manchester City. According to a report from Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Fenerbahce have already submitted an official transfer offer ot Man City for the 35-year-old England international, and Walker is seeking a two-year contract from the Turkish giants. If Walker and Fenerbahce can agree on terms, Manchester City are reportedly willing to sell.

Fenerbahce want to match Galatasaray stride for stride

Walker's time is clearly up at Manchester City, who even sent him on loan at AC Milan last season. Even though Man City are moving on - and could even try to steal Pedro Porro from Tottenham to replace the legendary Walker at right back - Walker did show to Milan that he has something left in the tank in European football.

He could be a great addition for Mourinho and Fenerbahce, and if Mourinho can get his hands on either of Bissouma or Richarlison, he'll have quite the collection of former Tottenham players as some of the biggest names in the Turkish Super Lig.

Walker had a great career with Tottenham before joining Manchester City and becoming one of the best defenders in the world, and it would be something to see him retire at Fenerbahce with former Spurs boss Mourinho as his manager.

This deal looks like it could very well happen, but we'll see if Walker is interested or if he has any other high-profile suitors, including those from the Saudi Pro League. After Galatasaray landed former Man City man Leroy Sane, Mourinho and Fenerbahce want to make their own splash, too.
