Jamie O'Hara is forcing Tottenham fans to rethink everything about Marcus Rashford

Tottenham Hotspur are mostly focused on getting the midfield signings of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali over the line, as these are ambitious deals that could cost the club 170 million pounds combined but also come at the major benefit of overhauling the middle of the park in the image that Roberto De Zerbi wants.

For many Tottenham fans, though, the real key this summer will be bringing in more individual quality in the attack, particularly players who can score goals at striker and on the left wing. Spurs only have two left wingers on the roster in young guns Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, neither of whom are ready to start, and remaining veteran strikers Richarlison and Dominic Solanke are also very underwhelming options for a team with ambitions of finishing in the top five of the Premier League again.

So far, Tottenham have only been concretely linked to Savinho, who is not a goal scoring winger, per se. The only other name discussed is Marcus Rashford, who will head back to Manchester United from Barcelona after the latter surprisingly chose the more expensive Anthony Gordon. And with Rashford having no future at Old Trafford, everyone knows he will be on the market again.

Marcus Rashford is still a huge name

Former Tottenham Hotspur center midfielder Jamie O'Hara is a huge proponent of Tottenham bringing in Rashford. There are rumblings that Spurs are interested in the player if they can get him for less than the 40 million euros that Barcelona turned down on the option to buy, but O'Hara sounds sold enough that he would take him at that price.

The pundit recently stated, via Chris Cowlin, “I would love nothing more than for us [Spurs] to break the bank with wages and get him over the line. It ain't going to cost you loads of money – what, £30m, probably? You're going to get him for nothing because they [Man United] need him off the wage bill. They don't want him there, his future at Manchester United is gone, right? The only reason he'd be integrated back into the team is if they can't get rid of him. If they can come to some sort of deal and get Marcus Rashford at Tottenham, he would be a star player for us. He is still top drawer.”

Honestly, Jamie O'Hara is surprisingly not making bad points here about Marcus Rashford. He is never going to be the second coming that Manchester United hyped him up as several years ago, but he was an effective rotational player for the second biggest club in the world and the champions of La Liga last season, scoring goals and getting into good positions. Rashford is affordable, experienced, and fills a need on the left wing. The problem is, he still has high wages, and he probably fits other leagues a lot better than England's.

That said, Tottenham are beggers, not choosers in the attack. Players who can offer goals with experience and technical quality on the left wing are not going to be easily achievable. As O'Hara says, he still has quality in him, and Spurs fans vehemently against the transfer may need to rethink their stance if better options who can score do not develop.
