Mikey Moore's breakthrough was one of the bright sparks amid a campaign of bleakness for the Lilywhites that somehow ended in glory.
Tottenham supporters are desperate for the next academy graduate to emerge, having been starved of celebrating ones of their own since Harry Kane departed for Bayern Munich in 2023. There had been high hopes for Harry Winks and, to a lesser extent, Oliver Skipp, but both are now plying their trades in the second tier.
However, Fabio Paratici's revamp of the club's academy means there's a growing teenage talent pool in north London, and Moore had been regarded as Spurs' next great hope until Lucá Williams-Barnett came along.
Moore's burst last season was enough to excite, but with first-team opportunities likely to come few and far between this term, sending the wide playmaker out on loan was deemed the necessary step to aid his career. In Russell Martin's Rangers, Spurs had seemingly found an optimal destination.
Instead, Moore stumbled into a nightmare.
Mikey Moore will surely benefit from Rangers sacking Russell Martin

Martin had done pretty good jobs at Swansea City and Southampton. An idealist whose approach revolves around a monopoly of possession, it seemed that Moore would at least get plenty of oppurtunites when he took to the field to showcase his youthful brilliance.
And Martin did give him chances. The Tottenham loanee has appeared ten times for the Gers, but he's unfortunately been a part of a collective mess up in Glasgow.
Martin will be remembered among the worst-ever Rangers managers in history, with the 39-year-old receiving his marching orders after overseeing just one league victory. After a 1-1 draw with Falkirk at the weekend, Martin was hounded by supporters as he exited the stadium. His inevitable sacking was confirmed in the aftermath.
While the ex-Rangers boss took to Moore and gave him a platform to impress, one the teenager didn't grasp, the Spurs starlet will surely benefit from the removal of anarchy at Ibrox in the wake of a despised manager's exit. There has to be a collective improvement facilitated by whomever succeeds Martin, which may be the easiest job in the world, and Moore has the chance to start afresh.
Former Gers defender Kevin Muscat and ex-manager Steven Gerrard have been linked with the job.
And if things fail to improve before the new year, Tottenham do have the option of recalling Moore in January.
