Tottenham Hotspur fans want to see the club make positive moves in the January transfer window, as many still have designs on Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo or even Manchester City wingers Omar Marmoush and Savinho as alternatives if Spurs are no longer competitive for the top attacking prize in the Premier League transfer market.
There is a clear need for more help on the front lines to assist Mohammed Kudus in creation and Randal Kolo Muani in scoring goals. But as Spurs fans ruminate over the possible available upgrades to their ailing attack, they must prepare for a potentially devastating departure.
Fiorentina have been an even more disappointing powerhouse in European football than the 2025/26 iteration of Tottenham, as they cannot buy themselves a win in Serie A and sit dead last in Serie A one year after being one of the league's darling sides.
Tottenham are in big trouble now
And Fabio Paratici has been tabbed as the successor to help turn around this titanic sized downfall. According to the latest information on his YouTube channel, top Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that the Tottenham Hotspur executive is indeed "open to joining" the Viola as a long term sporting director, with the club reportedly offering him a five year contract to call the shots in Firenze.
Per Romano, talks are "ongoing" and while "formal steps" need to be completed before Paratici exits London for Florence, there are indeed "chances" for the hyped up executive to make the switch back to a Serie A giant in 2026. Paratici is said to be "keen" on going back to Calcio, too.
It looks like Tottenham are going to have to resign themselves to losing Paratici this winter, because all signs are pointing towards Paratici wanting the challenge of turning Fiorentina around and the responsibility of being THE guy in Florence, as opposed to one of the decision makers at Tottenham.
Losing a mind like Paratici in the building would be a massive blow for Spurs, akin to losing a key player. Because he has been a key player in their process, signing much of the star players for Spurs and enacting a positive vision. The decisions made without Paratici were largely flops.
Paratici deserves a great gig like the Fiorentina job, but losing him to the Viola would be another ego blow to a Tottenham side that has taken more steps backward in the last few months than steps forward, too.
