With just one point in three matches and 17th place in the Premier League awaiting them again, Tottenham Hotspur have very little to smile about. They have not scored a single goal in three games, as their major signings have not yielded much in the form of results for new manager Roberto De Zerbi.
But if there is one thing Spurs have to smile about, then it is schadenfreude, becaues their former striker, Randal Kolo Muani, already looks just as awful for Juventus as he did for Tottenham throughout the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Aside from one fluke hat trick against his employers PSG, Kolo Muani was terrible in pretty much every game, and many Tottenham fans don't know why Spurs did not just pull the plug on his loan, allowing him to go back to Juve.
Randal Kolo Muani was Tottenham's worst ever striker
Despite the fact that Kolo Muani gave up on Tottenham and was arguably their worst ever striker in his year there, the Bianconeri were still hugely interested in bringing back a player they were already trying to keep in summer 2025 before he made his way to Tottenham on loan.
Juventus even spent a whopping 50 million euros to sign Randal Kolo Muani permanently from PSG this summer, which had Tottenham Hotspur fans guffawing. Tottenham would not even accept Kolo Muani if PSG paid them to take him, much less spend 50 million euros on him, which is actually about the same money they would spend to make the superior Omar Marmoush's loan transfer from Manchester City permanent at the end of the season if all goes well.
Kolo Muani has not scored or assisted in his first three games of the 2026/27 Serie A season, and while he was offering a spark on the ball against lowly Parma and Frosinone, he wasted seven shots in those games with no real goal threat or creativity.
And in a big game against AC Milan, he was even worse. Juventus somehow pulled out a 1-1 draw with the Rossoneri at home thanks to a last gasp goal from center back Federico Gatti, but when a backup defender is a bigger box and goal threat than your starting striker, then that is a huge problem.
Kolo Muani was on the ground for most of the game, and his cheap loss of possession literally led to Milan's opening goal. He was weak, flailing helplessly and looking at the referee while he was easliy pushed over to through balls, made zero passes to create chances, could not take his man on, and was no goal threat. Tottenham have done a lot wrong, but they can get the last laugh knowing they did not spend 50 million euros on Kolo Muani this year.
