Even though he was not a regular starter, PSG left winger Bradley Barcola had an excellent World Cup for the French national team, scoring a couple of goals and assists, asserting himself as a game changer off the bench, and causing so many headaches for opposing defenses with his explosion on the ball.
Tottenham Hotspur desperately need more quality in the attack, and one of their biggest positions of need is the left wing after losing legend Son Heung-min to MLS last season without even attempting to replace him with a new signing in either the summer 2025 or winter 2026 transfer windows.
Barcola is seen by many Spurs fans as a dream target, and if PSG are able to work with Roc Nation and close a deal for RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande, who should honestly be another Tottenham transfer target on the wings, then Barcola could potentially be available for the Lilywhites. And Barcola has the ability to both destabilize defenses and score double digit goals in a league season, which are the main things Spurs need from their starting left winger.
Tottenham are acting slowly
But Tottenham Hotspur fans have to realize that they are nowhere close to signing Bradley Barcola right now. Because according to the latest transfer news update from Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are still the club showing the most concrete interest in signing the 23 year old French forward. Romano says that Barcelona have not shown any interest either. Per Fab, the Barcola deal hinges on how much PSG ask for from Liverpool, and, thus far, they have not started negotiations for a contract extension with the winger.
Tottenham need to get in on this faster. Liverpool may be the favorites now, but if Roberto De Zerbi and Spurs show enough interest and sell him on the project, they, too, can land a top forward to go with the blockbuster Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes tranfsers in the middle of the park.
Spurs were willing and able to beat the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Manchester City to that midfield duo, and with only Liverpool to compete with and the Reds already having attacking competition, Spurs can go for this deal and sign Barcola instead of signing the player Liverpool would be replacing with Barcola, Cody Gakpo. But at this point, without any concrete interest, Barcola to Liverpool looks like the most logical scenario.
