Antoine Semenyo is going to be the most coveted name on the January transfer market this year, and with a release clause of 65 million pounds that is active in the winter, you had better believe Tottenham Hotspur supporters want their beloved club to be all over the Bournemouth breakout star.

Tottenham were already watching the star winger last summer, but, now, Semenyo is even better, and he's right there with Erling Haaland of Manchester City as one of the most valuable players in the entire Premier League this season.

Virtually every Big Six club is expected to be after Semenyo in 2026. Tottenham have joined Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United as clubs interested in Semenyo, though it looks like Liverpool may be the early favorites with City, Arsenal, and Spurs lurking behind them.

Antoine Semenyo is a big target for Spurs

Manchester United have also been linked closely to Semenyo despite signing a who's who of new forwards last summer, but it now appears the Red Devils may not be as serious competitors to Spurs as the others.

According to a new report from top transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, Manchester United are expected to make other targets their priority next year. Although Ruben Amorim and the club like Antoine Semenyo, Fab says that their main focus is to sign a star midfielder, as opposed to another forward. They will invest their money in the middle of the park, and they are reportedly not in active talks to sign Semenyo.

While that could change between now and the heat of the January transfer window, what Fab is saying makes sense. Players like Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba are going to cost around 100 million pounds, so spending 65 million pounds on Semenyo, who would then compete with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for minutes, may not be as big of a priority for them.

That's all great news for Tottenham, because it means, realistically, that's one less candidate to sign Semenyo over them. Spurs were already trounced by Man United last summer for Thomas Frank dream target Mbeumo, and Semenyo looks like an even better target this winter, judging by how he has performed this season for the Cherries thus far.

Now, Spurs will still have to watch out for Man United, and Arsenal, Man City, and Liverpool are all more formidable transfer foes anyway. But Man U, as the Mbeumo saga reminded everyone, will always carry a certain cachet about them. Semenyo is a potentially transformative signing on the left wing for Tottenham, and any transfer win is one they will gladly take.
