French national team right winger Maghnes Akliouche is one of the most talented young players in the world in his position, and he is coming off an excellent 2025/26 season for Monaco in which he carved up big opponents like Ligue 1 rivals PSG and Tottenham Hotspur.

It seemed like Akliouche had stepped up his game to a higher level in the big Champions League matches, and he was so good against Spurs head to head that the Lilywhites ramped up their interest in him in the winter, having already monitored him as one of their top winger targets last summer.

Many Spurs fans were disappointed the club did not sign Akliouche in January, especially since they got even thinner on the wings by selling Europa League Final hero Brennan Johnson to local rivals Crystal Palace. Injuries to Mohammed Kudus and Wilson Odobert only made Spurs regret not swooping for Akliouche even more.

Maghnes Akliouche gets closer to PSG

Now, Maghnes Akliouche is squarely on the radar of back to back Champions League winners PSG, who, like Spurs, are also gunning for the 24 year old after being impressed with how well he played against them in the 2025/26 season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid now sealing a deal for Lee Kang-In, the attacking midfielder from PSG, Akliouche is closer to PSG. Fab says that PSG are advancing for Akliouche now, and that was all part of their clear plan to sign the Monaco man after sending Lee off to the Spanish top flight again (he used to be a star for Mallorca before moving to Paris a few years ago at the behest of Luis Campos).

Tottenham Hotspur fans already did not have high hopes for Akliouche coming to North London after the club cooled their interest while serial Champions League winners PSG stepped up their own interest. Campos and Luis Enrique clearly have big ideas for Akliouche in that incredibly talented PSG wing rotation, which could still yet add an even bigger gem in RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande.

As for Tottenham, their fans are still waiting for any concrete movement on the wings. An even better long term target, Savinho, has seen his trail to North London grow cold, while Rafael Leao, Marcus Rashford, and the other names on the wings are nothing more than whispers. Tottenham supporters know the club cannot afford to be empty handed this summer on the wings.
