Tottenham Hotspur have already changed their midfield with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, and they have to feel very confident about their defense with both Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi essentially replacing Cristian Romero in the first team. But Spurs fans cannot say the same about the attack, as the club have yet to make a real push for a new signing up front, with the Savinho deal on the wings stagnating with Manchester City yet again.
As much as Spurs could benefit from Savinho and one other option out wide to fortify the quality, depth, and goals in this team, anyone can plainly see that the biggest need at Tottenham in 2026 is a striker who can actually play at an elite level in the Premier League and bag goals. Dominic Solanke and Richarlison are simply not good enough.
There are few options that have struck the fancy of Spurs supporters, but by far the most interesting to the club has been Bournemouth's latest phenom, Eli Junior Kroupi, who alreadylooks like a much more talented player and better transfer investment than the 65 million pounds Spurs paid to the Cherries for Solanke in 2024.
Bournemouth do not want to sell
The problem is that Bournemouth are even more reluctant to sell Kroupi than Alex Scott, and they are floating around figures well above 100 million pounds for a player who had 13 goals as a teenager, placing him in a bucket that only future Premier League superstars have reached in the past like Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs.
In his latest transfer update, Fabrizio Romano offered up several nuggets of information that Tottenham Hotspur fans won't want to hear about the Eli Junior Kroupi transfer chase. Romano confirms that Barcelona have been exploring Kroupi as an option for them in case they cannot sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, which has been a difficult move to pull off after Real Madrid interfered earlier this summer to jack up his price, so that gives Spurs more competition.
But Romano is also reaffirming that Bournemouth are telling clubs that they have no intention of selling Kroupi this summer transfer window. Worse yet, another Premier League Big Six club in Manchester City have shown interest, and they have plenty of money and pull. Although Man City signing Kroupi would hurt in terms of a Premier League title competitor of the future signing a potentially world class striker of the future, it at least could potentially give Spurs a chance to sign Savinho - or even Omar Marmoush, for that matter.
