Manchester City star winger Savinho has been on the Tottenham Hotspur transfer wish list for almost a year now, as the club were sending bids to the Citizens for the Brazilian international last August. They failed to meet the price tag for the player, but with Man City signing Antoine Semenyo, who was briefly a Spurs target as well, and not playing Savinho much, Spurs could sign him cheaper this summer 2026 transfer window.

Although Tottenham started the window off with significant interest in Savinho and had many fans thinking he would be the first blockbuster deal for the club under Roberto De Zerbi, the Italian manager actually inked a big money center back and two top class Premier League center midfielders before.

The Savinho trail has seemingly gone cold, but that does not mean Tottenham are no longer interested. In fact, top transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has clarified that Tottenham Hotspur and De Zerbi are still very much interested in the 22 year old Manchester City winger.

Savinho is still key to Tottenham

Fab said of Savinho and Spurs, as transcribed by Chris Cowlin, "I always told you that Savinho remains a target for Tottenham and Savinho is a target for Tottenham. In terms of timing, it will depend on several things, the transfer fee and Manchester City movements. There are a few details before we can say that Tottenham are close to completing the Savinho deal, but the deal is still on. Tottenham have not stopped thinking about Savinho. Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Senesi, Robertson, Dubravka, van Hecke - Roberto De Zerbi and the team are very busy on the market.”

Tottenham have been busier than any Premier League club - and really, any club in European football, including Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid - on the transfer market. They have yet to sign an attacker, though, despite landing six notable names in every other position - and the attack was Spurs biggest weakness last season as they stumbled to 17th place in the Premier League.

Marcus Rashford, Maghnes Akliouche, and Rafael Leao are among the notable names to have been linked to Spurs in the attack, but by far the most likely signing is Savinho, who is really the only one concretely linked to the Lilywhites. It would be an upset if Spurs did not sign him, and he has sent every social media hint under the sun to basically say to Roberto De Zerbi, "Hey, come and get me."
