Tottenham Hotspur have already rebuilt their defense with Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, and Andy Robertson all coming in, and Roberto De Zerbi has made his next mission upgrading the midfield, with a special focus on an ambitious double swoop for a potential 150-170 million pound splash on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.

But Tottenham also need goals. The have never come close to replacing club legends Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, and Spurs need goals from both the striker position and on the left wing. So far, the only concretely linked winger target is Savinho, but Spurs have seemed to drift more towards the midfield targets right now.

Another name that has been linked is Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United left winger clearly will not be staying at Old Trafford, but Barcelona decided not to buy him for 40 million euros on his option to buy, even though he was decent for them in a rotational role. The change in scenery helped. Tottenham Hotspur do not appear to be willing to spend 40 million euros on him either.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano gave a new update on the latest regarding the Rashford track. Despite the rumors linking Spurs to Rashford, Fab stated that there is nothing advanced or concrete between the Premier League side and the England international right now.

Marcus Rashford may very well be on Spurs radar. He is an experienced and technically prolific forward who could actually fit a need on that left wing, especially if Spurs can put him in a rotation with someone and get a good dea off Manchester United for less than 40 million euros - though, of course, it is unlikely the Red Devils would give another club in the Premier League Big Six any sort of a discount.

But Tottenham Hotspur supporters were always skeptical about the rumors that their club was already engaged in active talks for Rashford. The main focus right now is getting Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes over the line, and those are ambitious deals. Roberto De Zerbi needs midfielders to be the bedrock of the team, and Spurs are not going to get the forwards until they have the base of De Zerbi's tactics set.

Rashford is the kind of goal scoring, shoot first left winger with the quality to create from a technical and tactical perspective that De Zerbi may like. But Savinho is the first priority, and Spurs have yet to fully explore all their options. While Rashy is a name to watch, he is not there yet for Spurs.
